FSU Seminole Football: Get The Best Seat in the House!

University Center Club "Grille Tickets" for Home Games Now On Sale!

Local Tallahassee folks love Game Day.  Whether we have tickets to the game, plan on going to a sports bar or have a little football party at the house - it is a time to get together, enjoy food and cheer on the Seminoles.

There is nothing like actually going to the home games. The cheer of the crowd, the excitement, the suspense, knowing the rest of the country is watching something on television that you are witnessing live.

The Tallahassee tradition is to tailgate before the game.  This entails finding a spot in the parking lot, plopping down the tailgate of your truck, firing up a hibachi and drinking a cold beer.  Whether it is too hot out or too cold out, die-hard tailgaters never fail to accomplish this ritual.

But I'm 39 now and have a family.  When I go to the game, I do like to get caught up in the excitement before kick-off - but tailgating in the parking lot is not for me anymore.  I do like to arrive early - finding parking can be a hassle if you don't.

So the sensible choice for me was to join the University Center Club. If you have ever been in the stands and you look down at the End Zone and see the people on the terrace and the huge window with people inside - then you were looking at the University Center Club's Osceola Grille.

Osceola Grille's View of the End Zone is Breathtaking

How do you get to be one of those lucky few that get to go escape to the heat, cold and rain and still enjoy the game?  Well, first you need to become a member of the University Center Club.  This is a common misconception - you don't need to be an FSU Grad, a local bigwig or anything like that. All you need to be is a football fan.

The best person to talk to about joining is Membership Director, Cherrie Barbree, just call her at (850) 583-6641 and tell her Tony Miller told you to call.

Now that you are a member of UCC, you can go and eat there anytime they are open.  Your table can be next to that big window overlooking the field.  Nice view!

On Home Game Days, the club is only open to ticket holders or Grille Ticket holders.  Here is the deal, if you are a member, you can come and tailgate at the Osceola Grill and in the Ballroom from 3 Hours before kickoff.  Half an hour before kickoff, you have to have a "Grille Ticket" to get into the restaurant area but you still have access to the Ballroom where the game is up on the big screen.

As a member, you can roam from your seat to the ballroom anytime during the game.

Those lucky people I mentioned hanging out on the patio during a game are the "Grille Ticket" holders.  These tickets are usually sold out months in advance.  You don't need a ticket to the game, your Grille Ticket IS your ticket to the game.  You just get to enjoy the game from the Osceola Grille and its terrace.  The Grille has a full cash bar, and enjoy an inclusive Football Buffet during the game (which includes non-alcoholic drinks.)

Now until April 30th, Grille Tickets are on sale while they last. Grille Tickets range from $100 to $150 each, depending on which game you wish to attend. But that is not much higher than purchasing a regular seat - and this included a/c, and the buffett!

Remember two things: 1) You have to be a UCC Member to buy a Grille Ticket and 2) The Grille Tickets WILL be sold out very quickly - so call Cherrie now at (850) 644-9089.

Now that is what I call tailgating in comfort! See You At The Grille!
